APEC Travel Card

Application for APEC
Business Travel Card (ABTC)

The APEC Business Travel Card is an initiative of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum to help business people move freely within the APEC region.

The card will help reduce the time and cost to business travellers in meeting the visa and entry requirements of APEC countries.

A single application will be shared among participating countries to establish 'pre cleared'status before a card is issued.

The card will allow border agencies in participating countries to provide strealined entry and exit processing.

The card will promote business contact within APEC.

To be eligiblee to apply for an APEC Business Travel Card you must be in business with a need to travel regularly within the APEC region.

The information you give in this applicatron will be provided to other participating countries to establish you pre-cleared status. Decisions of those countries will be provided to the Australian Government.

Business People who are:

  • Nationals of the following participating countries - Australia; Chile; Hong Kong (China); Republic of Korea and Republic of the Philippines.
  • Travel frequently to conduct trade and investment activities within APEC countries.
  • Have not been convicted of a criminal offense.

What is the card?

It gives accredited business people the equivalent of visa-free travel to participating APEC countries through a simple pre-clearance system.

It will not only simplify pre-travel arrangements, but will also fast-track the entry and exit of cardholders through special APEC lanes at major airports in participating countries.

Cardholders will still need to carry their passports for entry and exit purposes because the APEC Business Travel Card only identifies the holder to border management agencies as holding the pre-cleared status, simplifying and speeding up entry and exit formalities, inlcuding where possible through special "APEC" lanes.


An APEC Profile

APEC is a maior regrional organization established in 1989 to advance economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. The 21 members of APEC are: Austalia, Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; China; Hong Kong (China); Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; Russia; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; the United States; and Viemam.

New Application Requirements

  • One (1) copy Application Form (PCCI)
  • Three (3) pcs. passport size picture (white background)
  • NBI Clearance for traveling abroad (original copy)
  • Bureau of Immigration Clearance (original copy)
  • Certificate of Employer/Company (to include current position and duties and responsibilities)
  • PCCI Certificate of Good Standing Member
  • Curriculum Vitae that includes job description/duties and responsibility of the applicant's related to trade and investment
  • Justification to hold an ABTC
  • Company Profile to specifically include: (a) total capitalization of the company, (b) organizational chart, (c) name(s), address(es), telephone & fax numbers and email of business partners in APEC, (d) past and current business activity in APEC, and (e) annual volume in peso or dollar of past and current transactions with business partners in APEC.
  • Photocopy of Passport including pages with VISA / Stamps / Stickers and departure/arrival as proof of frequency of travel within the APEC region
  • Other pertinent information to justify issuance of an ABTC
  • Php 10,000.00 or Php 20,000.0 plus 12% VAT *processing fee
  • Summary of trips for the last five (5) years

Renewal Application Requirements

  • One (1) copy Application Form (PCCI)
  • Three (3) pcs. passport size picture (white background)
  • Return the old APEC card
  • Photocopy of Passport including pages with VISA / Stamps / Stickers and departure/arrival as proof of frequency of travel within the APEC region
  • Curriculum Vitae that includes job description/duties and responsibility of the applicant's related to trade and investment
  • Php 10,000.00 or Php 20,000.00 plus 12% VAT *processing fee
  • Summary of trips for the last five (5) years

Please note that applicant for the ABTC new & renewal passport must be at least 3-years validdity.


NOTE:

    Applicant(s) business travel frequency within APEC are the time of application must be at least three (3) times a year.

    ABTC Philippines may limit the number of ABTC issuance for officials representing one company depending on the company size, capitalization or type (e.g family-owned).

*Processing Fee:

  • Php 10,000.00 - for offcers of business organizations, industry/trade associations,local chambers and companies with assets below Php 20M.
  • Php 20,000.00 - for companies with assets over Php 20M.
